Simran is a 21-year-old student from India, who is currently completing her Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology. Over the past 3 years since she has been involved with Special Olympics, Simran has organised Special Olympics Bharat’s first National Youth Summit for 250 participants, as well as Pratishtha, a community outreach programme which engaged 520 participants. At the regional level, Simran also served as a member of the Regional Youth Input Council from 2018 to 2019, and represented Special Olympics Asia Pacific at the 2018 East Asia Regional Youth Summit in Shanghai. As a Youth Activation intern at Special Olympics Bharat, Simran manages youth activities in the Program and also leads the national Youth Activation Committee.

As a leading advocate for Unified Leadership, Simran promotes the meaningful participation of athlete leaders in every step of planning. As a passionate change-maker, Simran believes in the power of youth to build an inclusive society that is free from all forms of social injustice.
